It is as simple as positioning a shield drone and a few snare mines to protect the General (I was a low-level Tau at the time, and as such did not have access to even Anti Armour missiles). This image is just a little example of team synergy (something I will go into more detail about in part 2). I am beginning to come around to the fact that any combination of accessories could win a game, so long as they were able to be synergised well with teammates and used on the right map. I love discovering new builds that are effective, ones beyond the standard that have become entrenched in many players’ minds.

A lot of people seem discount the sheer amount of builds that work out there.Īt the end of the day, your hero will be configured to what you want (as well as whatever is available to you based on level). The idea of TLS is that you experiment to find the best kit that works for how you play. The Tyranid Hive Tyrant can be a melee tank, ranged damage dealer, or a side-show to powered-up minions.

The Lord General can be used as an agressive melee hero, or a true leader with full support of turrets and infantry. For example, the Space Marine Captain can be set up as a melee tank, or a ranged support. The thing I have always loved about Last Stand ( TLS) is the sheer variety of ways to configure your hero. In addition, I believe information on how best to level up and selecting the optimal hero combinations are also important to share so that you can maximise your chances of victory.
In the next edition I will cover remaining characters. In this edition I will cover the Space Marine Captain, Ork Mekboy, Chaos Sorcerer, Tau Commander and Lord General. I plan to split this overall guide into two parts. Victory hinges on not not only a decent hero selection, but also a decent selection of wargear for those heroes. Heroes are perhaps the single most important thing about The Last Stand.
